Take, take off your shoes, you’re standing on holy ground!”  This is a 'take off' on the words God once said to Moses at the Burning Bush. Today we are prepping for Earth Day on Thursday, April 22nd.

As the final notes of Edelweiss are being played by Braden and his friend, Anican, think of your favourite spot in nature –that place where you feel closest to God:  sitting by the sea, fishing on a lake, scaling the summit of a mountain, padding along on the forest floor or feeling the spray of a waterfall - put yourself there and feel the awesome majesty of God.

Today’s Reflection was filmed in Squamish, BC surrounded by beautiful mountains with ‘eternal snow.'  After the reflection was recorded, we drove further up the mountain and captured the footage of the spring run off that you'll see.  If you’re in Squamish, be sure to drive up the mountain and see it ‘in-person!’                  If, after hearing the reflection, you’re keen to learn more about John Muir, Father of the National Park System, I’d recommend “My First Summer in the Sierra” by John Muir.   If you’re someone who prefers to watch rather than read, check out the link below - available on PBS or YouTube Premium:

*Over a montage of images of the country's most spectacular landscapes — from the Grand Canyon to Yosemite — writer Dayton Duncan talks about the notion that is at the heart of the park idea: namely that people   collectively hold in safekeeping the land. As discussed in Ken Burns's [filmmaker extraordinaire] film, THE NATIONAL PARKS: AMERICA'S BEST IDEA, the magnificent views of mountains, waterfalls and canyons belong not to an exclusive few, but to everyone and this is what makes it a truly democratic idea. On EARTH DAY, make it a point to get out into the great outdoors and give thanks to God, the Creator of All Living Things! Taste and see that the Lord is good!
