Exodus 14:19-31 Parting of the Red Sea
The ‘haze’ these past few days has been something else. I was in Manitoba on holidays in the summer of 2017 the last time “pillars of cloud” from forest fires caused the sun to turn pink/red. I do remember hearing about it from several of you upon my return that year. ‘Pillars of cloud’ seemed quite timely given the reading from Exodus today.
Children, teachers and other staff returned to school this week to a ‘new normal’ with mixed reviews. Let’s continue to include all of them in our thoughts and prayers as they figure out what works, what doesn’t and how to navigate their way through this school year with all the uncertainties it holds and all the yet unknown and inevitable changes. I’m suggesting the Serenity Prayer: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.”
